Job Description:
- Oversee the entire revenue cycle, including patient registration, insurance verification, coding, billing, and payment collections.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the billing team to ensure timely and accurate billing and collections.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer policies, and industry standards throughout the revenue cycle process.
- Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues and reduce claim denials.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve revenue cycle efficiency and reduce accounts receivable aging.
- Review and analyze financial reports to identify trends and provide recommendations for improving revenue cycle performance.
- Provide training and mentorship to billing and coding staff, ensuring they stay updated on industry changes.
- Coordinate audits and reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding and billing standards.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of insurance processes, payer policies, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills to oversee a team of billing and coding professionals.
- Analytical skills to review financial data and make informed decisions to optimize revenue cycle performance.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues that affect billing accuracy and timely payments.
- Familiarity with healthcare software, EHR systems, and medical coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams, insurance companies, and patients.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP), Certified Professional Coder (CPC)) are preferred.
